While AdoptionConnections.ca and the administrators and approved moderators of the forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it will become impossible to review every message. Editing and removal of posts will be made at the sole discretion of the owner of Adoption Connections or any of the approved moderators of the forums.

You acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not that of AdoptionConnections.ca or Adoption Connections administration or moderators unless otherwise specified. Adoption Connections is not liable for information posted by members of the forums and cannot guarantee that the information posted by all forum members is accurate.

WHAT’S NOT APPROPRIATE ON ADOPTION CONNECTIONS FORUMS?
When you register to use the Adoption Connections forums you must use a valid email address to register as a forum member. Should the owner of Adoption Connections or moderators become aware that the email you provided is not a valid email address your registration may be deleted.

Please do not post or link to sites that are not family friendly. This includes but is not limited to websites that use profanity or vulgar language, or show sexual images. Please do not post or link to websites that are used for commercial means. The Adoption Connections forums are not provided for the purpose of advertising your wares. All such posts and links will be removed and the member who made such posts may be deleted and banned.

Please show respect for other members of Adoption Connections forums and refrain from attacking or insulting other members. Members of Adoption Connections forums will have varying opinions. These various opinions are encouraged however you agree not to post any abusive, obscene, hateful, threatening or attacking messages or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Any posts that are deemed to be of this nature will be deleted. Should this be an ongoing issue with any member of the forums, that member may be deleted from the membership.

SOLICITING EXPECTANT PARENTS
Please do not solicit expectant parents who come to Adoption Connections forums. Adoption Connections forums are meant to be a safe place for everyone. It does not feel safe to have others posting or sending you “I can help” messages. Sending internet addresses for potential birth parents to visit is considered soliciting and is not appropriate. Please refrain from sending these types of private messages to potential birth parents.

If you are considering adoption for your child and you receive such a private message please let Shelley know at shelley@adoptionconnections.ca. Shelley is a birthmother who was solicited endless times while pregnant and believe it or not, for more then eighteen months after her son was born. She knows what this feels like and would like to curtail these types of messages here on the Adoption Connections forums.

Adoption Connections offers a Parent Registry where expectant parents who wish to make an adoption plan for their child can find adoptive parents for their child. The Adoption Connections Parent Registry allows potential adoptive parents to make their intention of adopting known to any potential birth parents or birth family members who may visit the Adoption Connections website. Each families page in Adoption Connections Parent Registry includes a “Dear Birthparent” letter, nine pictures, phone numbers and email addresses for that particular family. Adoptive parents may also include a link to their personal adoption website on their page within the Adoption Connections Parent Registry. Should you desire potential birthparents see your personal adoption website; the Parent Registry is the place to provide this information. Links to websites of this nature that are provided in the member listing will be deleted, unless these links are already available on the Parent Registry. CAUTION TO EXPECTANT PARENTS CONSIDERING ADOPTION
All of the adoptive families who have registered in the Adoption Connections Parent Registry have a valid homestudy that was completed by a social worker in the province in which they reside. They are approved by the Ministry to adopt.

Each adoptive couple is solely responsible for their “Dear Birthmother” letter that is posted within the Parent Registry. Adoption Connections is not liable for the accuracy of the information contained in these letters. Adoptionconnections.ca is not liable for any choices made pertaining to contacting any of the adoptive parents in the Parent Registry. Should you choose a family from the Parent Registry and not be satisfied with your choice, Adoption Connections is not liable. AdoptionConnections.ca is not an adoption agency and we do not provide any guarantee as to the parenting abilities of any of the parents listed in the Parent Registry. It is the suggestion of AdoptionConnections.ca that birth and adoptive parents seek the advice of adoption professionals as soon as possible should a possible match be made through the Adoption Connections website. We suggest that you follow the advice of your adoption professionals.

PRIVACY POLICY
Your privacy is important to Adoption Connections. Adoption Connections will not supply your email or personal contact information to others except where required by law, unless requested by you to do so; such as in the parent registry. You may choose to use the private message option rather than post your personal email in the public member directory.
