Greetings!!

Hi!!! Our names are Sean and Audrey and if you're looking for a childless couple that will provide your child with incredible love, stability and some background knowledge about what it is like to place a child for adoption then we're the couple for you. If your dream for your child includes family vacations, camping trips, weekend pancake breakfasts, play dates with other children, relaxing moments spent outside at home and lots of hugs, kisses and cuddles then we know we can help that dream become a reality.

Our Lives Together

We are young, loving and energetic!! Initially we met while out for an evening with friends and family. While we sat chatting my cousin and Sean's sister thought we would really hit it off, so they exchanged our numbers for us. The rest as they say is history.

We have been together, committed and in love for over 10 wonderful years. We are best friends who know each other very well; who accept each other for the strengths and weaknesses that we each bring to our partnership. Our relationship is filled with love, fun and mutual respect. Honesty and integrity are values that guide us in our interactions with each other as well as with others. We are a strong couple, willing to support each other through life’s challenges and ready to really, really enjoy all the great things that make up our life together.

We enjoy spending time together and we make the most of our free time by taking part in a lot of outdoor activities like gardening, snowshoeing and biking, walking and enjoying the nature trails that are found in our neighbourhood. We also like to relax in our backyard, chatting with neighbours or reading the latest bestsellers.

We also really like going to movies, I like comedies and Sean likes spy thrillers, and we’ll often grab a few of friends and make it a fun social evening. Sean and I also like going to concerts and we’ve been lucky in the last few years to have seen Great Big Sea, Pearl Jam, KISS and Blue Rodeo just to name a few. We also like taking road trips to close by communities and travelling further afield to new destinations.

While it's true that we get along really, really well, it's also true that we each have our own personality. This is ok because it keeps things interesting. Some of our differences include the fact that Sean is the 'spender' in the relationship and often compares himself to a crow - 'If it's shiny I want it!' I'm more of a 'saver' and I've been known to ask 'Are you sure we can afford it?' too many times to mention and for Sean to take! Sean is always ready to get together with a group of friends while I feel more comfortable with a smaller crowd. We also deal with problems differently - Sean's a thinker and I'm a talker. It's not always easy being different but we know and understand each other and this helps us to manage and enjoy those differences.

Building Our Family with Adoption

We are thrilled to be pursuing adoption as a means of building our family. We always knew that adoption was something we wanted to do. When the timing was right, when we took those first steps in the adoption process, we were energized. The optimism and energy that came with our decision to adopt has filled us with excitement at the possibilities ahead of us.

All of our family and friends are very, very excited about our decision to adopt. We have their full love and support and we know they will welcome your child with open arms. Many of our family and friends are anxiously awaiting the chance to arrange play dates!!

All About Sean....

Sean is a very fun-loving, friendly and engaging man who makes friends easily and puts people at ease as soon as they meet him. Sean always has the energy, playfulness and patience to keep up with anyone and is always conscious to give children his undivided attention. Our nieces and nephews love getting together with Uncle Sean because he’s always ready to run around and play.

A few years ago, Sean completed the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning diploma program at Algonquin College and as a result he is a licensed gas fitter. He is currently working towards his plumbing license while working for a well established company in Ottawa. Sean's skills are in very high demand and this gives him employment security and great financial rewards. Sean is a hardworking, dependable and responsible person and he really enjoys dealing with customers and learning new things.

Sean relaxes by going to the gym, by biking and by playing hockey too. Sean also loves to read spy thrillers and murder mysteries. Sean is a huge Habs fan and wears his Montreal Canadiens jersey with pride. Sean loves to barbecue and has been known to brave sub-zero temperatures to grill a perfect steak.

Every day I am grateful that Sean came into my life. He is a loving and caring person. His optimism and courage, his playfulness and his sense of humour are qualities that I draw strength from and which I admire. I know he will make a wonderful Dad to your child if given the chance. I just know it!!!

All About Audrey....

My darling Audrey is a smart, loving and passionate person who is always willing to lend a hand or a shoulder to lean on. Audrey’s friends often ask her for advice or to listen if they are trying to work through a problem or when a decision needs to be made.

Audrey has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Canadian history from the University of Ottawa and an Archives Technician diploma from Algonquin College. Audrey works as a manager in the federal government and plays a key role in making sure information is made available to the public when requested. Audrey enjoys many benefits with her position including a great salary, the option to work from home, parental leave and excellent medical & dental insurances.

Audrey enjoys going to the gym, going for walks around our neighbourhood, reading mystery novels and putting together play lists for her iPod. In the summer she spends time looking after our flower beds and she takes a lot of pride in all the irises, peonies and lilies that come back year after year. Audrey also loves to bake and make desserts - her Christmas baking is divine and our friends rave about her chocolate chip cookies!! Audrey likes to spend time visiting with family and friends, keeping up to date with what is going on in their lives and in their children’s lives as well. Audrey loves playing with and talking to her nieces and nephews. Audrey is ready for and committed to adoption and believes it to be the best way for us to expand our family, and I agree whole heartedly.

Personally, I owe my current success to Audrey's encouragement and her belief in my ability to do whatever I put my mind to. Honestly, I cannot say enough about my sweetheart. She is all anyone could ask for. If you choose us as adoptive parents for your child, you can be certain that Audrey will love your child unconditionally and will provide the support and encouragement they need to be the best they can be.

Our Home

We live in a spacious three bedroom home located in an energetic West end Ottawa community filled with many young families. We have a nice backyard that is shaded by the trees we planted a few years ago. There are two elementary schools within walking distance as well as lots of parks and soccer fields located on our street. We also enjoy several outdoor skating rinks and nature trails. There are plans for a community centre, with a pool, a gym and several soccer fields to be built down the street in the next year or two. We have been living in our home for over seven years and we are proud to say it is a gathering place for family and friends. We love our home and our community and both have given us wonderful memories and some great friendships. Our home is made all the more welcoming by our five year old furry feline named Floyd. He is a very calm and gentle kitty who plays a big role in our day to day lives.

Our Family and Friends

I (Audrey) have three sisters, two brother-in-laws, three nephews and two nieces who love spending time with Uncle Sean and I. We get together with my family to celebrate birthdays, holidays and just to spend time together. In the winter we go tobogganing, play board games and drink hot chocolate. In the summer we go to my Mom and Dad's to play outside - Frisbee, croquet and hide and seek - in their back yard. We bring sandwiches to share and we have a big picnic!!!

I (Sean) have one younger sister and a brother-in-law who are also planning for a child as well. My parents live in a small town just outside of Ottawa in a house with a big back yard and lots of puppies. Audrey and I visit with my family very often, getting together for holidays, birthdays and camping trips. We will often go to our family cottage located in the province of Quebec for long weekend vacations and family getaways. The cottage has a large eat in kitchen, a living room with a wood burning stove and a large sleep area. It’s a great place to enjoy the outdoors, swim, and snowshoe and watch the stars at night by a large bonfire. We’ve been known to make the odd toasted marshmallow and many, many s’mores!!

We have a large group of friends made up of people we have known for a long time and some that we have met over the past few years. Sean and I value our friendships and we are always ready to help out and of course to share a laugh or two. We enjoy spending time with our friends and their children by hosting dinner and movie nights, by having barbeques, by going on camping trips, by getting together for birthdays and other special occasions. We also like to get together for ‘game days’ where we will play games like Wii bowling and baseball, Scrabble, Pictionary, Clue and many more.

Our Parenting Plan

We will provide your child with a home that is filled with unconditional love and support and provide them with the encouragement needed to develop their own ideas, personality and decisions.

We will draw on our backgrounds and our own upbringings to teach your child respect for themselves and for others. Compassion and responsibility will be some of the other values that we will want to share with your child. Sean and I both like to help people including our neighbours, our friends and our family members. We will share with your child the satisfaction that comes from helping others and making a difference in a person’s life.

The financial security we enjoy will allow us to provide opportunities for travel and for the extra-curricular activities that your child might want to explore and experience. Soccer, hockey, basketball, art, dance, or music lessons are among the activities we will make available to your child if that is what interests them.

As a family, we will experience trips to local camp sites, cross Canada vacations and holidays around the world. Sean and I have enjoyed exploring different parts of Canada including Prince Edward Island, Vancouver, Quebec City and other locations closer to our home. We would like to share these wonderful spots with your child and also discover many others.

We will also encourage your child to set and pursue school related goals and support their exploration of possible career choices whatever they may be. We will be able to provide for a post-secondary education if that is the path that your child wants to take in the pursuit of their goals and to accomplish whatever dream they may develop for their future.

Our Relationship with You

We are committed to fostering an open adoption experience between you, your family and your child. We believe exchanging letters, pictures, phone calls and arranging regular visits will allow your child to have as much love in their life as possible. Our families have a special connection to adoption. Sean's Mom is a birth mom too and from her experience we can understand the importance of keeping a close and open relationship with you and your family if possible and if that is what you choose. Also, one brother-in-law is an adoptee so we have his experience to draw from as well and to guide us as we navigate the adoption process.

We are dedicated to doing all we can to nurture an open relationship with you however if an open adoption relationship doesn't suit you at the moment then we will leave the option open and available to you for the future. We are a flexible and easy going couple who will adjust to circumstances as needed with patience and understanding.

Thank You!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile. We understand that you may still have questions and we welcome the chance to get to know you and to discuss your plans and the dreams you have for your child. We hope we've been able to convey all the love, care and the opportunities we will be able to share with your child. Hopefully we are the family you have been looking for.

With Warmest Regards,
Audrey & Sean
