Dear Expectant Parents,
Your decision to create an adoption plan is courageous and loving and surely extremely difficult. Both you and we have love to give and love to offer. Your bond with your child will last forever, beyond time and distance through the life commitment that the adoptive parents make in raising a beloved child.
The next few words are about us, Monica and Denis, for you. As much as words and images can do, we hope that this window to our life will reach to you and you’ll want to know more about us.
Thank you for taking the time to share moments of our life.
Love,
Monica & Denis
You Are A Strong Woman
You are a strong woman making this adoption plan for your child and we will make sure that she/he will know how wonderful her/his mother is.
Whatever your decision will be concerning contact in the future, we will welcome it with our hearts open.
When she was young, a very close relative made a closed adoption plan. She has never seen her child again. We think that this should have been different.
We think that love transcends everything. And all the love and sacrifice you put into this adoption plan deserves the deepest respect and appreciation. Your child will learn about this through your direct contact with us and any other form of communication you approve.

The Denis I Love
by Monica
Denis is a very uncommon person but also one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. He is a quite unforgettable figure and he is the ultimate enemy of fashion. Shhh, let's keep this our secret and not tell him.
Denis is generous and giving to everybody by his own nature.
Both Denis and I have an unusual sense of the humor, which makes every second of life brighter. Denis taught me that there is so much to love and appreciate around us – it is just a matter of having a positive attitude to make all of these part of our daily life. He enjoys every moment of life and makes it special through humor, wit and enthusiasm.
Denis is an enthusiastic paleontologist, and he has a special bond with the DINOSAURS!! He puts together fun and work while collecting fossils and learning how animals were living many millions of years ago, as well as lecturing about Earth’s ancient history. He also dedicates time to create a fantasy world of dreamy creatures and landscapes, through the Dungeons and Dragons game, as a well known author and website designer.
Denis plays guitar, likes to sing, and finished 3rd in a provincial auto racing series.
I love being in love with Denis and living life with him!!
The Monica I Love
by Denis
Monica is one of the most loving and caring people I have ever met. I can’t imagine life without her. She cares so much for every living thing. She is incredibly brave in the challenges she has taken on over the years, such as the daring professional path she followed that eventually brought her to my university and to me, and for taking on the medical procedures she did to try and become a mother.
Monica is an incredibly creative person. She looks at the world with the eye of an artist, which is why her photographs are so beautiful.
Monica is a dedicated scientist, but she is also a huge fan of the arts, enjoying plays, opera, ballet, the symphony orchestra, and rock concerts.
Monica likes to skate, paint, and in the past has done gymnastics, violin, and skiing.
Denis' Professional Life
I love teaching. To see students light up when they grasp a concept, and see something that fires their imagination… that is one of my greatest joys. My university teaching position allows me to do that on a weekly basis.
Monica's Professional Life
Through all my life, I enjoyed studying and reaching farther, to know more about the world we live in and to get closer to people.
My current work is related to the preserving of our own environment - I am a Hydrogeologist at one of the biggest environmental consulting companies in North America.
Denis' Family
My sister and I grew up in a very happy and loving family. My parents instilled within us a wonder about our world and a respect for all things in it.
I am fortunate that my parents (and most of my wider family) live only a few hours away, and we visit them often. My sister and her husband have a wonderful daughter, and my mom and dad are incredibly excited about the prospect of becoming grandparents again.
Monica's Family
Both my parents live in Romania, where I have a big loving family and lots of friends. I came to Canada as a visiting professor at the university, in 2005 and I decided to continue living here because I met Denis, the guy I love
I visit home every year. Wherever I am, in Canada or Romania, I have people who love me and who I love. All of them know at this time about our application for adoption and are very anxious to meet the most wonderful addition to our family!
Our Lovely Pets
Molly is the sweetest yorkie-poo ever. She is always happy to be with people, especially children. Her best friends are Tabby, our cat and Fritz, the golden retriever, who visits Molly once in a while, for playing. Molly came in our family when she was 7 months old.
Tabby is our cute kitty, a very gentle and playful little guy. We adopted Tabby when his "Mommy and Daddy" – Ritu and Arun - an Indian couple, left Canada to move back home. Tabby was very close to Avi, their daughter, ever since Avi was born.
Our Life Together
Our everyday life is ordinary and, at the same time, extraordinary. The ordinary things are work, housekeeping, taking care of our pets, going out with family, friends and colleagues, playing, hiking, traveling. The extraordinary things are all the above, plus the love we share. We are fortunate to have supportive parents and friends, who make our life diverse and interesting.
The World As Seen Through Our Cameras
Monica - Every day I live in a magic world. Everywhere I turn, there is a wonder waiting to be seen. In a second, the beats of my heart become shapes, colors, shadows and lights. Between all of these and me, there is my camera.
Denis - Everything around me is alive, every corner filled with secrets to be uncovered. Nature permeates all. Through the eye of my camera, the wonders of the world reveal themselves... the every day becomes magical, and the unusual comes to light.
Our Home
We also have a wonderful nest, which we call home.
We like to believe that our house has been waiting across time for people like us to reveal its special character and personality. It is 129 years old, with two stories and an incredibly beautiful garden.
How I Want to Raise Our Children
by Monica
I have always been a happy and loved child myself. I remember loving the voice, warmth and scent of my mother.
I want to be that mother for my children, one day. I want to raise them strong for life and respectful to the fundaments of family, friends and education.
How Our Life as Parents is Going to be Different
by Monica & Denis
Becoming a parent at a mature age definitely has its strengths. The strength comes from an evolutive process towards becoming a parent. There is expectation, desire of commitment to family values, and excitement about the times to come. There is our life experience and a balanced attitude to what we wish our lives to be and how we will get there. Our lives will be different as parents in the most expected and desired ways.
Life with Our Child
We have this everyday dream about how our life will be having the most wonderful child in the world. We dream about how our hearts will feel their heart beat every minute and how our smiles will make even darker days brighter.
We dream about ordinary days, such as waking up, going to school, having dinner together and playing. We also dream about how we’ll share with our child all the love we have for nature and its wonders.
We dream about the special trips we will have, shorter or longer, and about how we’ll discover together the world around us. We dream about handing a camera to our child and going out there hunting for unique shots. We dream about having family and friends around, with their kids. We dream about life being special just because we are parents.
We never dream about how our child will look – skin color, eyes, hair… We are all unique and, more than this, every child is a wonder which does not rely on appearances. We just know that our child will be wonderful and this is all it matters.
Some Practical Thoughts
We will take consecutive parental leave to bond with our child.
All the arrangements will be made for our child to have the best care after we will be back to work.
No corporal punishment or any other form of physical or emotional restriction will be used to raise our child.
Education is fundamental to who we are. We will support and encourage our child to pursue her/his own dreams and life goals through education.
We are just thrilled thinking about how we will spend time with our child engaging in all sorts of creative and challenging activities.
Our Thoughts About Open Adoption
It is our fundamental right to know where we come from. There is no debate, at least in our consciences, about this right. Our adoptive child would know about the circumstances that make him/her become part of our family.
We would never feel uncomfortable about our child knowing about his/her biological family. After all, we will engage as parents in a life journey, where bonds will grow out of respect and love.
Someone like yourself, who would give us the great gift of parenthood, does so through generosity and heart. The most unnatural thing would be to break apart the bond between biological parents and child. It is not only about us, as adoptive parents, but also about our child, who has the right to their history.
It is your right, as biological parents, to decide whether you would like to maintain contact with your biological child, now or later. We will respect any decision you will take in this matter, and would be pleased to welcome you into our family as well.
In Closing
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We have so much love to share. No matter what your decision, we wish the best for both you and your child.
Love,
Monica and Denis
